Parenting With The Father

I have been a christian since I was 10. I was raised in a Southern Baptist Church which I attended with my grandparents. I love singing the old gospel hymns and loved hearing the word of the Lord. I continued through middle school attending church and bibles studies as much as I could. My freshman year of high school I moved off to live with my dad. It became hard to attend church since I didnt know anyone and my father wouldnt take me. I eventually quite showing interst in going.

I married my husband back in 2008, we were both 18. This marriage started our journey. We moved from Texas to Chicago and eventually to Washington State. During our time in Washington, We had our first child. I had always told myself that when I have kids they WILL be raised in church.

Now we faced our first challange as a family and attending church. I was raised Southern Baptist and my husband was raised Episcopalian. We had tried many churches but none of them were a right fit. My husband told me that I could go without him, but I never gave up trying to get him to come with me. I personally believe that church is a family thing and the family should go as a whole.

We are know back in Texas and living in his home town. We have finally found a church we can both agree on and joined that church Jan 26th 2013. I am proud to say that I am a member of the First United Methodist Church of Orange Tx. I am so glad that we finally found a church and a church family we love.
